about me
From a young age, Nicole wanted to be like her grandmothers Aida and Ginette. She constantly wore their garments and accessories around the house fantasizing about being at a fancy cocktail party or a singer at an opera concert. Both grandmothers had an immense talent for embroidering, sewing, knitting, and needle-pointing which were inevitably passed along to Nicole.
After being surrounded by such strong and creative women, Nicole was inspired and decided to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Accessory Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. She is very detailed oriented in designing and making footwear, handbags, and small leather goods. In this process she enjoys creating a concept, researching trends and materials, although the most electrifying part is the production of accessories. This all stems from her grandmothers by admiring all their handmade craft. She naturally found herself gravitating towards the hands-on process of a product.
Proud of being from Puerto Rico, she decided that her Senior Accessory Collection would be inspired by her childhood memories at the Mosquito Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico. It is the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world. Those magical experiences of being surrounded by microscopic glowing organisms in the ocean and swimming creatures that leave a trail of light have impacted her since a child.
