It all began with my childhood visits to Mosquito bioluminescent Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Being surrounded by such beauty under dark, starry nights with glowing waves and creatures swimming around me has inspired me to create a concept based on these experiences.

This concept is about how bioluminescence lives in the deepest part of the ocean, Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. It is one of the most extreme habitats on Earth that houses a diverse number of species found nowhere else on the planet, the majority still remaining unknown.

Many being bioluminescent, it's incredible to know that with the hard environmental conditions these creatures live in they can still reproduce and survive. It is cold, dark, quiet and the pressure is extremely high.

Living lights in the ocean are beautiful, mysterious, useful to humans, and absolutely essential to the animals that possess them.

To create the illusion of bioluminescence, all products have a transformative element where they are different when seen in regular lighting vs. blacklight, where the fabric and SWAROVSKI glow.
